【SUMMARY】  

Amebiasis is a major cause of parasitic dysentery in developing countries and is estimated to be second only to malaria as the leading cause of protozoan-related mortality world-wide. It is known that Entamoeba can cause amoebic dysentery and liver abscess, and Negri and Acanthamoeba mainly cause meningeal encephalitis, keratitis, oral infection and skin damage. Clinically, Entamoeba histolytica causes many cases, a wide range of infection and great harm.
